Reading
In KS1 we use Reading Eggs to help the children with their reading skills. It makes learning to read interesting and engaging for the children, with great online reading games and activities.
Once a child can read it is tempting to think that the job is done - but at this point we help children to explore different types of book as well as making sure that they can understand the books that they are reading.
The use of Accelerated Reader allows children to choose their own reading books from a selection which is personalised to their level. Once they have read the book the children take an online quiz to check their understanding of what they have read. Accelerated Reader gives children immediate feedback, and then adapts the level of book that they should be reading accordingly.
